20 JULY 2014: See The Big Picture with Stephen Wiltshire
Stephen was born in London to West Indian parents on 24 Apr 1974. As a child he was mute, and did not relate to other people. Aged three, he was diagnosed as autistic. He had no language and lived entirely in his own world. But he is well known as an artist who draws and paints detailed cityscapes.
As part of SPH's 30th anniversary celebrations, Stephen was invited and commissioned to draw the Singapore panoramic skyline. After viewing the skyline in a helicopter, he spent 4 days drawing it from his memory. Amazing! |
