22 Mar 2015: 清明@光明山
|
Memorial Day for the Yong's Ancestors
Qing Ming (淸明) is the memorial day to pay respect to our ancestors, a tradition that we observe yearly. We arrived early to beat the crowd in 光明山.
It's a day that the children pay respect to Alvin's deceased mother before the urn that contains her ashes safekept in the columbarium. |
It's also the Yong Family Lunch Get-together Day. We patronized the 肉骨茶 at MidView City. |

23 Mar 2015: Remembering LKY
|
On 23 March 2015, the world lost a visionary leader. It was a day of deep mourning for Singapore.
I'm immensely grateful to LKY for fathering Singapore through the past 50 years of our nation building, from a down-and-out impossible state to better than anyone-can-expect.
LKY was my visionary role model. I respect his imaginative capacity in painting far-sighted vision, his courage to stake all he has to manifest it, and his patience to steer the ship through multi-generation evolutions. |

25 Mar 2015: Theingi and Alvin queued for 30min to pay our respect to late Mr Lee who was lying in state at the Parliament House till 28 Mar 2015.
|

27 Mar 2015: Alvin accompanied Jin and Robyn to Chua Chu Kang GRC Community Tribute, one of many tribute locations set up islandwide to pay respect to LKY. |
|
Farewell and thank you, LKY.
“Even from my sickbed, even if you are going to lower me to the grave and I feel that something is going wrong, I will get up.”
